What result do you get when you grep dmesg...

[root at mysql2 ~]# dmesg | grep Memory
Memory: 16427860k/17825792k available (2573k kernel code, 344108k reserved, 1305k data, 212k init)
[root at mysql2 ~]# cat /proc/meminfo | grep Mem
MemTotal:     16432000 kB
MemFree:       6439996 kB
[root at mysql2 ~]# free
             total       used       free     shared    buffers     cached
Mem:      16432000    9991996    6440004          0     414376    8943528
-/+ buffers/cache:     634092   15797908
Swap:      2031608          0    2031608
[root at mysql2 ~]# free -m
             total       used       free     shared    buffers     cached

[root at mysql2 ~]# omreport system summary | grep "Total Installed Capacity"
Total Installed Capacity   : 16384  MB
[root at mysql2 ~]# omreport system summary | grep "Memory Available to the OS"
Memory Available to the OS : 16044  MB
[root at mysql2 ~]#

Interesting.

I see a similar issue on 32bit, PAE, RHEL 5.3, on a PowerEdge 6650.

Attributes : Total Installed Capacity
Value      : 16384  MB

Attributes : Total Installed Capacity Available to the OS
Value      : 15992  MB

392MB "missing" in this case.

Google doesn't turn up much, although I suspect in my case its related to being a 32bit kernel.
