Safe to run smartctl on PowerEdge 2950 Dell PERC 5/E?

The version of smartmontools that comes with RHEL5 doesn't have support
for the megaraid. You'll need to upgrade to at least 5.39.1 or newer.
I have an RPM built for RHEL5 for smartmontools 5.39.1 if you want it I
can email it to you.
