Debian Lenny on R610 with PERC 6/i

Could it be a problem grub trying to boot from a LVM partition. A quick Google search
turns up this, so it can be done using Grub 2 and Lenny:
But he does mention the extra option he had to add to the grub config file. Maybe something
similar needs to be done in the grub "legacy" setup?
