RHE 4 on PE1950 with NO Dell CD

Now that makes sense. However, the original CDs didnt do that ;)
 
Oh well.. live and learn.

oh, oops ;)

its probably installing X because something else you have selected to
install depends on X.

	edit /etc/inittab and change the 5 to a 3, and then run telinit
