RHEL 4 USB to Serial converter

Thanks for the info everyone, okay so I purchased a generic Dynamode
converter, plugged into laptop running Fedora Core 6 and messages reported
connection to ttyUSB0 great.  Plugged into 1950 RHEL4 server but messages
log reports that a new usb device is using address 2, I guess this means it
hasn't been recognised.  Below is output of lsusb -v and lsmod, I notice
that lsmod doesn't have usbserial module am I missing a package, any advise
would be useful.

Fully updated RHEL 4 kernel 2.6.9-42.0.3.ELsmp.
