DLT Drive VS80

Over the last week or 2 I have been having backups fail on my PowerEdge
600SC DLT Drive.  I have tried a new tape but after running it twice the
backup failed each time, about 4 hrs into the backup.  I am using tar under
Fedora 3.  Does this look like a drive fault?  The system is about 3 and a
half years old.
