Tape stuck in Sony DAT?

We used a Sony AIT drive several years ago, and I seem to recall that
you could turn off the tape drive, press the eject button when you
turn it back on and continue holding it down for 10 or 15 seconds and
it would eject the tape regardless of other errors.  May not work on
your DAT, but perhaps worth a try.
