Why RHN update IBM JDK ?

We are using WAS 5.02 on RHES2.1 (2.4.9-e.27) on 2550's and all the issues I
have had, with the exception of the level of the c runtime libs, are IBM
issues. I would not install any IBM updates from RHN. IBM is very specific
(limited) in their Linux support. Good luck with it.

Regards, Marshall

Subject: Why RHN update IBM JDK ?

Redhat Network(RHN) updates has
   IBMJava2-JRE-1.3.1-10.i386.rpm
   IBMJava2-SDK-1.3.1-10.i386.rpm

this rpm installed /opt/IBMJava2-131 same place.

IBMJava2-JRE-1.3.1-10 NOT found in
http://www-106.ibm.com/developerworks/java/jdk/linux140/

# ./java -fullversion
java full version "J2RE 1.3.1 IBM build
cxia32131-20031021"
#

When we use IBM DB2 8.1.5 and WebSphere 5.1,
Should we use redhat's IBMJava2-JRE-1.3.1-10 ?

Redhat supports IBM JDK ?

We have 4 choise.

1) Redhat IBMJava2-JRE-1.3.1-10
2) JDK with DB2 installation
3) JDK with WebSphere installation
4) JDK from IBM JDK site

Redhat Enterprise 2.1AS
We suppose to use kernel-smp-2.4.9-e.40
JDK depends on Kernel version ?

Who suports JDK ?
IBM, Redhat or Dell(We use PowerEdge 1750) ?
