PowerEdge Web Servers Now Available

Effective Wednesday, March 6th, Dell began taking orders for Linux-based Web
Server solutions on the PowerEdge 2550, PowerEdge 350, PowerEdge 1400 SC,
and the PowerEdge 1650.

PowerEdge Web Servers provide an inexpensive yet powerful solution that is a
pre-configured, factory installed software solutions package. Unlike the
previous version of web server (the PowerApp.web 120), the PowerEdge Web
Server is hardware independent and can be offered on the server hardware of
the customer's choice.
Key areas that Dell PowerEdge Web Servers will focus on are: ease of use,
management, features and flexibility. 
- Open Appliance Server: Flexible hardware and software configurations.
Offered on 1U, 2U and Tower model PowerEdge server platforms.
- Rapid Deployment: Browser-base deployment tools that provide local and
remote deployment options. 100% headless deployment support.
- Secure Web-based Administration: Secure browser-based administration tool
to configure, administer and manage Network, System, Web, FTP, DNS, Mail,
Database and other services. Role-based UI to support true virtual hosting.
- Systems Management: Industry standard Dell OpenManage applications to
manage server hardware.
- Redeployment: CD-based and browser-based redeployment tools that provide
quick recovery mechanism.

The PowerEdge Web Server solutions address the needs of the following types
