Dell USB Keyboard quits or doesn't work at all once SCO loads...

I am also having this problem on osr 5.0.7 and 6.0.
We have always found usb keyboards to be flakey in SCO, and because of this have always exchanged them for ps2 before we ship a server to a customer
now however with the 2900s that dont have a ps2 option we have moved to the usb version as well.
I have had the same experience with Dell USB keyboards. Sometimes there just seems to be high latency. The time between pressing a key, and seeing a letter appear on the screen can be up to 3-5 seconds. When I press the numlock or caps lock it takes the same amount of time for the indicator to light up. Sometimes the keyboard will lock up completely like Don describes. Moving the keyboard to another usb port will sometimes bring it back, but most times it will not.
The solution we have used is to go with a generic or an IBM keyboard. These lock up less, but still have a few problems. It would be nice to use the keyboards that come with the servers. Anybody out there know why this is happening?

Hi there,
We have a few servers out now, PE830's and PE1800's, that are having the following problems with the Dell USB keyboards that come with them...
1) keyboard quits working when the server has been running for a while... might happen overnight, or in a couple of hours.
-> unplugging and re-plugging it in works about 10% of the time to get it to work again.
2) in some installs once SCO loads and I'm at the login prompt the keyboard won't work at all.
-> that same keyboard will work on any Windows PC I connect it to.
-> any other NON Dell USB keyboard I've tried has worked so far in my testing of this situation on that same server.
-> plug the Dell keyboard in -> nothing... -> plug the generic USB keyboard in -> works, switch back to Dell -> nothing.
-> works fine at the boot: prompt, but not once SCO loads all the way.
I've now seen this on PE830's and PE1800's with SCO 5.0.7 and SCO 6.0.0, both with their latest MP's installed and any USB patches.
Has anyone had this issue or know how I can go about fixing this?
Thanks,
Don.
