Dell - Internal Use - Confidential
This is something I'd like to document in a more permanent place. In process is some mechnization to make this easier/more obvious. However,
ipmiflash works on the bare ROM-so you're close. Unpack that .exe (it's a self extracting zip) and get the .hdr file in the home directory. That's your rom.

Then, here's an example script to call it-let me know if you have other issues...

# cat do.ipmiflash
#!/bin/bash
IF=./ipmiflash
#
# -f  force flash
# -p  preserve config
#
#

#
# Flash a C6220
#

TGT_SVR_BMC=192.168.8.135
TFTPSVR=192.168.8.1

#BMC
#./ipmiflash -H$TGT_SVR_BMC -Uroot -Proot bmc tftp://$TFTPSVR/fw/fw.c6100.bmc.124

#FCB
#./ipmiflash -H$TGT_SVR_BMC -Uroot -Proot fcb tftp://$TFTPSVR/fw/fw.c6220.fcb.010011

#BIOS
#./ipmiflash -H$TGT_SVR_BMC -Uroot -Proot bios tftp://$TFTPSVR/fw/fw.c6220.bios.010021

This is the command and output I am attempting. I guess the ipmiflash tool does not like the .exe file?

/opt/dell/pec/ipmiflash bios
ftp://ftp.us.dell.com/FOLDER01769322M/1/PEC6220BIOS020102.exe

Triggered flash process to start.

The BIOS update will seem to complete quickly and the target system will reboot.
Flash updating occurs after reboot, and may require 5-10 minutes.

Flashing Task ID:  02

Status: ( 9 sec) Transmitting Image
Status: ( 20 sec) Error: General error Error condition during update process. Aborting.
