Precision M4300 / wifi intel 3945 / success (Bruno Friedmann)

To Bruno Friedmann,

I am using Ubuntu Gutsy 64 bits on a Dell Precision m6300, it also uses
the Intel 3945 wireless card. I was having issues with it having a very low
transfer rate as well as dropping out entirely. I switched from using the
ipw3945 kernel module to using the iwl3945 module. The difference is night
and day. In order to use that module instead of the default ipw3945 module,
I had to blacklist the ipw3945 module. I did this by creating a file in the
/etc/modprobe.d called "backlist.ipw3945". In this file I wrote, "blacklist
ipw3945". In the /etc/modules file, I added on a new line with "iwl3945".
This allowed the iwl3945 kernel module to be loaded. Hopefully you can do
the same with Opensuse.
