Dell Precision 470, Migrating with non-RAID SCSI to Perc4e/DC.. (Help needed) (fwd)

For the record, I figured the following: keeping the data on the existing
disk while migratng to a PERC4e/DC is not possible. There are two reasons:

1) Striping is mandatory in the RAID-1 config (you cannot just disable
striping in the PERC RAID menus..:( ).

2) The disk geometry is different (hence the Buffer I/O errors I guess..):

In the following output, /dev/sda is a Fujitsu MAT3147N disk on an aacraid
HBA without RAID and /dev/sdb is a MegaRaid RAID-1 device built with two
identical disk drives (MAT3147N).

As you can see, the size differs (the RAID-1 device is smaller than the
native device..)

[root at palanthas ~]# fdisk -l /dev/sda|grep Disk
Disk /dev/sda: 146.8 GB, 146810536448 bytes

[root at palanthas ~]# fdisk -l /dev/sdb|grep Disk
Disk /dev/sdb: 146.6 GB, 146695782400 bytes

Therefore, my only solution (I guess) is to 'pvmove' all my lv's from
/dev/sda to /dev/sdb and re-install GRUB (anyone got a procedure for
migrating a boot disk with LVM?)

Thanks for reading,
