drivers have never been written for OSS which is what the in 2.4
kernel. He did make a set of packages for 2.4 later

BUT there is no guarentee they will work for your chipset, your
mileage may vary, and you may just end up with the device continuosly
playing Elvis's "Bridge over Troubled Waters" even after the system
has been powered off.
