I am trying to get the rpm to work on our precision 380 workstations
running RHEL 4.4. Kernel is 2.6.9-42.0.3.ELsmp. (Just updated a
few days ago) Sometimes it works. Sometimes it doesn't. I can't figure
out why. Thats why I asked for source rpm. `cause I can wrap my head
around source rpms since I build them myself. This dkms stuff is not as
well understood by me. Sorry. When it doesn't work, I see stuff like this
is /var/log/messages
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Oct 10 13:20:38 moreproof kernel: snd_hda_intel: disagrees about version
of symbol snd_hda_bus_new
Oct 10 13:20:38 moreproof kernel: snd_hda_intel: Unknown symbol

of symbol snd_hda_build_pcms
Oct 10 13:20:38 moreproof kernel: snd_hda_intel: Unknown symbol
snd_hda_build_pcms
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
And it goes on and on. Suggestions for what I can do to correct this
situation? I saved the output from the install of the snd-hda-intel rpm.
The dkms install produced little output.
