ATI driver installation under Fedora Core 4 (and or 5) FireGL V3100 PCIE

OK, I had no answer from the list but found out a solution:
I first detected that some of libraries previously installed by the
nvidia driver where still here and used via some auto generated symbolic
links at the PC startup (was something like that: "libGL.so.0.1 ->
libGL.so.0.1.7676", etc.) !!!
So, I thought it'll be a good idea to remove every packages related to X
librairies in order to clean up this mess and then to re-install them
(xorg-* packages).
I did it, and then installed the ATI driver.
All is working good now, I just wonder how these nvidia libraries where
still here and what kind of script was still here to create these
symbolic links at every startup...
I think I forgot to correctly uninstall one of the version of the nvidia
driver I used in the past with my old hardware configuration.
Thank you for your attention.
Nicolas.
