Sound on P390 with RHEL3u7

I have a precision 380 with Fedora Core 5, and have the same no-sound 
problem. Steven Martin's post of Fri Sep 29 shows how to get sound going 
with a 390 and RHEL3u7.  Will this work on my system? Or do I need to 
find  the equivalent files for Fedora Core 5?
