Greetings,
Recently we went through a situation with our fleet of Precision 370
workstations I wanted to share with the list. We upgraded to RHEL 4 from
RHEL 3 at the beginning of the summer semester. Right after the upgrades
our student workers let us know that some random machines were not
picking up their usb mice or usb keyboards on rebooting on the upgraded
precision 370s. (like maybe a random 5% of the machines) There wasn't a
problem under RHEL 3. We reboot automagically every weekend so this was
becoming quite a pain in the ass.
It turns out updating the BIOS from A02 to A07 completely fixed this
issue on all of our precision 370s.
Cheers,
