Have anyone tried the Dell Precision 690 yet?

Hi all
I searched through the mail lists for anyone that have installed the new Dell Precision 690 but couldn't find anyone writing about this. So here I go then..
The latest update 8 on RHEL3 works great to install on the 690 and I can also manage to get the machine up and running on the "Red Hat Enterprise Linux WS-up" option. However the SMP option fails for me with trouble with the mptbase saying: mptbase: "Initiating ioc0 recovery" over and over again until it says: "Probably an unrecoverable SCSI bus or device hang."
The disk is connected to the new LSI SAS controller. I tried hyper threading off and multicore off with no difference. BIOS is A01. Also tried "acpi=off" same problem.
Why is the SMP option not working but the other one do? It does not make sense to me. Any pointers or advice would be very appreciated.
Best Regards
