            Hi list-users,

            Iíve build three triple boot W2KS / RH7.2 / AS2.1 Precision 350ís
with the 3.06 Ghz HT processor. There is a gotcha installing these two OSís
as you will need to turn off HyperThreading and go to compatible
mode in the bios to install these OSís, before you can install the raid driver.
these boxes completely freeze otherwise during the ansi ďDo you have
a driver Disk?Ē dialog.
I finally was able to figure that out, but now I could use some help. I need to
get the e1000 interfaces up, and Iím starting on Redhat 7.2

I have the src rpm from intel for the gigabit Intel interface,
http://downloadfinder.intel.com/scripts-df/download.asp?url=/2897/eng/e1000-4.4.
19.tar.gz

and as well I have the kernel source package for the 7.2 kernel, but after
unpacking them both I havenít been able to get anything to build.
http://rpmfind.net/linux/RPM/redhat/7.2/i386/kernel-headers-2.4.7-10.i386.html

Has anyone installed Linux 7.2 or Advanced Server 2.1 on one of these 350ís
that could offer any advice on getting the interface configured?

The problem seems to be that when you unpack the kernel source it installs in
/usr/src/redhat/SOURCES , while the intel module Makefile
wants to look in a number of other places. Iíve edited the Makefile to look in
the proper place, but so far no luck. I know that 8.0 ships with these
systems, and will run out of the box, but I need these OSís for out QA group.
Any assistance would be much obliged!
