Subject: Regarding Dell precesion380 workstation problem

  We persently purchassed Dell precision380 workstation service no.72R5K1S and Express service tag is 1504017600.It was xp pre-installed.As per our ofice requirment
  we installed Red hat Enterprise 3 update 4 kernel version 2.4.21-27El.This machine has nVidia quadro nvs 285 desplay card. We downloaded folowing driver for this display card from Dell site as below:
  dell-nVidia-7167-5dkms.src.rpm.
   as per instruction given for installation of driver we generally installed it 
  with following command
   
   
  #rpm -ivh dell-nVidia-7167-5dkms.src.rpm
  # tar zxvf dell-nVidia-7167-multiarch.5.tar.gz
  nstallation
1. Log in as the root user
2. At a command prompt, type "tar xzvf dell-nvidia-xxxx-multiarch-1.tar.gz" to extract the files from the compressed archive
3. Download the latest dkms RPM from support.dell.com, or install the one from the archive by typing "rpm -Uvh dkms-2.0.5-1.noarch.rpm". If you receive a message that a newer dkms is installed on your system already, proceed to the next step
4. At a command prompt, type "uname -m"
5. If the output from step 4 is "i686", then at a command prompt type "rpm -Uvh dell-nvidia-xxxx-1dkms.i386.rpm" to install the 32-bit device driver. If the output from step 4 is "x86_64", then at a command prompt type "rpm -Uvh dell-nvidia-xxxx-1dkms.x86_64.rpm" to install the 64-bit device driver. 
6. Start or restart the X Window system for the device driver to take effect
   
  And restart the pc at the booting time it is showing messages 
   
  Kernel source for 2.4.21-27 ELsmp not installed . Can not installed this module.
   
  And display card is not being installed. 
  Please help me steps to short out this problem with command. because we are new user and want be treat as user friendly.
   
   
  Second messages are showing after typing this cammand 
  #rpmbuild -bb /usr/src/redhat/SPECE/existing sec. file
   
  Error: your kernel source for kernel 2.4.21-27El can not be found at /lib/modules/2.4.21-27EL/build or /lib/modules/2.4.21-27EL/source.  you can use the --kernel sourcedir option to tell the DKMS where it is located.
   
  Error: Bad exist staus from /var/tmp/rpm-tmp.40603/build - RPM build error
   
   
   
   
  Plese look this problem and help me with steps and command to short out this problem.We will be very thank ful to you..
