[Linux-PowerEdge] Question about the BMC....

To get BIOS version,

# cat
/sys/class/dmi/id/bios_version

2.5.2

-or-

# dmidecode -s
bios-version

2.5.2

you can use 'dmidecode -s HELP' or 'dmidecode -t HELP' (HELP can be any
nonsense word here to get DMI to spew the strings (-s) and types (-t) it
knows).

for example... for every string option available, print its name and the
result from a query, wrapping multilines (multi-value output) with ';'
delimiters

for dmistr in $(dmidecode -s help 2>&1 | tail -n +3); do printf "%24s :
%s\n" "${dmistr}" "$(dmidecode -s "${dmistr}" | sed 'N;s/\n/;/' )"; done
