Hi Dirk,

The preinst script for this package does this check:
	[ -d ${srvadmin_sysconfdir}/openmanage/iws/config ] && [ -d ${srvadmin_datadir}/java/ ]
It doesn't check if the files it needs in /etc/opt/dell/srvadmin/openmanage/iws/config/ are present before doing a keystore/jar migration. I've updated this script to do more thorough checking to avoid the case you run into. (I'll have the updated package published in the next couple days--hopefully sooner--after I've finished testing and resolving the other bug that's been brought up.) In the meantime, to avoid the condition caused by this older test, you can remove or rename /etc/opt/dell/srvadmin/openmanage/iws/config before upgrading. If you already tried to upgrade a system, there will be a /opt/dell/srvadmin/backup directory, which you'll also need to remove. (The updated package will do checks on this directory as well.)

As far as installing the 32-bit packages on a system with a 64-bit kernel, there are some possible issues with this, and OMSA is actually not tested with this configuration.

I don't see those ldconfig errors with Ubuntu, but I do know that it's right about those files not being symbolic links. That is how they should be in a working OMSA install to be consistent with the official builds, even though those libraries should be versioned if they were to be used by outside packages at some point to better follow Debian Policy.

/etc/opt/dell/srvadmin/openmanage/iws/config/ exists on update.

It's strange. On some servers it installs, on some it doesn't. First I thought there was a problem only on machines running 64bit-kernel with a 32bit-userland. But I get errors even on upgrading pure 64bit systems.

I didn't use approx on this server.

The only working way to get it installed was to purge all packages and remove /opt/dell and /etc/opt. But so the keystore is lost and I have to regenerate and sign the SSL-certificates.

The server on which it worked was a clone of this one...
Kind of odd

Dirk
