Subject: DRAC firmware update fails on Ubuntu

I'm trying to do a DRAC firmware update using local racadm, but it fails with:

# /opt/dell/srvadmin/bin/idracadm fwupdate -p -u -d /root/images
sh: bmcfwu.so: not found

I'm running:

Ubuntu 11.10 / 3.0.0-12-generic #20-Ubuntu SMP Fri Oct 7 14:56:25 UTC 2011 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux

RACADM version 7.1.0
Copyright (c) 2003-2012 Dell, Inc.
All Rights Reserved

RAC Information:
RAC Date/Time = Tue Jul 24 18:30:22 2012
Firmware Version = 1.54
Firmware Build = 15
Last Firmware Update = 08/26/2010 07:25:47
Hardware Version = 0.01

I had the same problem with OMSA 6.5, so I upgraded to 7, but that didn't help.

The Ubuntu packages don't include bmcfwu.so (I downloaded and ran `dpkg --contents` on every .deb in http://linux.dell.com/repo/community/deb/latest/amd64/)

I would greatly appreciate any clue as to whether there is...

1. a workaround to get bmcfwu.so (I know I could use the web ui, or tftp, but I really want to do this using local racadm)
2. a reason that this can't work
3. someone i ought to pester to include this in the Ubuntu packages

Thanks for any help!
