Dunno about CentOS, but on Debian 5:


# modprobe sg
# lsscsi -g
[0:0:0:0]    disk    SEAGATE  ST3500620SS      MS04  -         /dev/sg0
[0:0:1:0]    disk    SEAGATE  ST3500620SS      MS04  -         /dev/sg1
[0:1:0:0]    disk    Dell     VIRTUAL DISK     1028  /dev/sda  /dev/sg2

# sg_inq /dev/sg0
