Hi all,

i'm experiencing a trouble when monitors CPU temperature via ipmi
interface. I have two PowerEdge R410 servers with identical
configuration. When i request a temperature data from ipmi sensors i get
a different values. Look at the output

Server 1
[root at ns2 templates.dist]# ipmitool -I lan -H server1 -U user -P pass
sdr type "Temperature"
Temp | 01h | ok | 3.1 | -68 degrees C
Temp | 02h | ok | 3.2 | 50 degrees C
Temp | 05h | ok | 10.1 | 36 degrees C
Temp | 06h | ok | 10.2 | 35 degrees C
Ambient Temp | 07h | ok | 10.1 | 28 degrees C
Ambient Temp | 08h | ok | 10.2 | 29 degrees C
Temp | 0Ah | ok | 8.1 | 20 degrees C
Temp | 0Bh | ns | 8.1 | Disabled
Temp | 0Ch | ucr | 8.1 | 56 degrees C
Ambient Temp | 0Eh | ok | 7.1 | 15 degrees C
Planar Temp | 0Fh | ok | 7.1 | 31 degrees C
CPU Temp Interf | 76h | ns | 7.1 | Disabled

Server 2
[root at ns2 templates.dist]# ipmitool -I lan -H server2 -U user -P pass
sdr type "Temperature"
Temp | 01h | ok | 3.1 | -63 degrees C
Temp | 02h | ok | 3.2 | -61 degrees C
Temp | 05h | ok | 10.1 | 35 degrees C
Temp | 06h | ok | 10.2 | 36 degrees C
Ambient Temp | 07h | ok | 10.1 | 29 degrees C
Ambient Temp | 08h | ok | 10.2 | 32 degrees C
Temp | 0Ah | ok | 8.1 | 19 degrees C
Temp | 0Bh | ok | 8.1 | 25 degrees C
Temp | 0Ch | ucr | 8.1 | 52 degrees C
Ambient Temp | 0Eh | ok | 7.1 | 15 degrees C
Planar Temp | 0Fh | ok | 7.1 | 40 degrees C
CPU Temp Interf | 76h | ns | 7.1 | Disabled

On Server 1 in entity 3.2 i'm getting 50 degrees above zero and on
Server 2 i'm getting -61 degrees below zero. This information is not
correct to monitor CPU temperature. Why the same servers has different
values (one positive and other negative value). I'm using NAGIOS as
monitoring software.

Thank you

Arseny
