I have tried using OpenManage before (admittedly it was a couple of years ago)
but at that time it was limited so that it could only be installed on a couple
of hand-picked distros (e.g. Red Hat.) Because I prefer more flexible distros
I can't run most software like this. (I always find it ironic that open
source software, comprised mainly of volunteers, runs on a much wider range of
systems than most financially-backed closed-source packages.)
Is it still like this or can I unzip parts of it and run it direct from the
command line without installing anything?

Yes I would be surprised if it did crash, but then there's not too many things
that will cause a machine to stop responding to ARP packets!
I was hoping I'd be able to use racadm to set the IP and reboot the DRAC, but
then the only version of racadm that I can find is the one on the DRAC itself...
Cheers,
Adam.
