FC3 (kernel 2.6.9) on R710

Do you use the smp- kernel (uname -a will tell you) ?

But even then, FC3 is really old, I don't think it will support that many CPU's out of the box or the newer chipset features.
I'd suggest upgrading to a newer distribution (CentOS 5.x or even FC11), and if you really need FC3 then run it in a virtual machine (VMware, kvm, virtualbox, etc).

Cheers,

Robert

FC3 (kernel 2.6.9 at Dell R710 with dual X5570 (quad core)) shows the following errors during boot up (W/WO HT enabled at BIOS)

	...

	Processor #23 invalid (max 16)

	....

ACPI: [APIC:0x00] ignored 16 entries of 32 found

	....

CPU: Unsupported number of the siblings 16

Also, the /proc/cpuinfo shows only one physical CPU (total 8 CPU with HT enabled, 4 CPU with HT disabled) is used

	Physical id : 0

	Siblings : 1

	Any patches for these problems.
