I did not even notice that it was SAS. I have a SCSI drive that should fit the bill so I will give it a try today.
thanks!
Dave

You can't replace a SCSI drive with a SAS drive. You can use a different model of SCSI drive of the same size or larger and same speed or faster.

Hello,
I have a poweredge 1850 with what appears to be a dead drive (see below). I have been told that the drive model: 146 GB Ultra320 SCSI Cheetah 10K.7 #: ST3146707LC Has been discontinued and that "146GB CHEETAH 15K.6-SAS 3.5 16MB ESG" is an alternative. Does anyone know if this will work properly or have any advice for me?
Thanks!
Dave
