Linux on PE 6400

Does anyone know if a fairly modern version of Linux will install without 
too much difficulty on a PowerEdge 6400? Ordinarily I would attempt to 
install a recent version of SuSE/Slackware/Fedora, etc on this system but 
it's currently a production Windows 2000 server and can't be disturbed 
just yet.
