DSET Unable to read ESM Logs

Hello

I am running Centos 4.7 on Dell R300 servers.

DSET does not seem to be able to read the ESM logs and it's report gives the
error 'Error! No Embedded System Management (ESM) log found on this
system.' . The ESM logs are accessible using Ctrl-E during powerup.

- I installed centos 4.7 onto the box without any modifications (custom
install selecting only 'Web Server' and 'Mail Server').
- I installed DSET 1.7 onto the box (this added only this rpm
delldset-1.7.0-119 )
- I ran DSET and it was not able to read the ESM logs (Error! No Embedded
System Management (ESM) log found on this system.) also it was not able to
read the Raid controller (SAS 6/iR) (this seems to be common on Centos &
Redhat ES installs and for some reason is not addressed by the DSET install)
- I installed  compat-libstdc++-33
- I installed DSET 1.7 again
- I ran DSET and it was now able to read the Raid controller but still could
not read the ESM logs.

I have spoken several times with a Dell technician and he believes that this
is an issue with Centos vs ES as DSET will read the ESM logs without any
problem if ES 4.7 is installed instead.

Do you have any suggestions on how I can get DSET to read the ESM logs ?

Thanks for your help.
Rick
