PE 1850 and 2850 blue front LED dead ?

I can confirm that we have two 64 node clusters of 1850s which have had perhaps
32 total nodes lose their Blue LEDs requiring replacement. (25% fail rate)

I don't think any of our other smaller 1850 clusters (14 node, approx 8 of them)
have had this issue, nor any of our standalone 1850 servers.

Initially, i thought it might have been due to flashing the BIOS with
a directly BIOS flash (not using the DUP package), as about 6 nodes
lost their LEDs on the reboot after that, but there's clearly no
correlation with subsequent losses.

It does seem that it may be a bad batch, but that doesn't explain the repeated
losses on some systems.  (unless Dell's keeping the bad batch in the
service bins!)
