Replace failing drive on PERC 5i PE2950 RAID 1 Array

Hello everyone,

   We have a Dell PE2950 with a Perc 5i controller.  It has a RAID 1
array with two 73GB disks and a RAID 5 array with three 146GB disks.  As
you can see from the output below, we are starting to see "Media Errors"
on PD 8:1

A few weeks ago it was at 4, a couple of weeks ago it went to 6, and
recently it jumped to 70.  Time to replace it.  So the new drive is
hours away from delivery, and I am wondering how exactly I should
replace this drive.  Should I just pull it out hot and plug the new one
in? Do I need to do anything from the PERC BIOS?
