SNMP and eventLogDateName

Hi all.
I'm implementing some SNMP checks in Nagios for all my PowerEdge servers. I'm thinking of having the latest eventLogRecord along with the eventLogDateName and eventLogSeverityStatus. So I am using these OIDs for my checks:
.1.3.6.1.4.1.674.10892.1.300.40.1.5.1.1 (eventLogRecord.1.1)
.1.3.6.1.4.1.674.10892.1.300.40.1.7.1.1 (eventLogSeverityStatus.1.1)
.1.3.6.1.4.1.674.10892.1.300.40.1.8.1.1 (eventLogDateName.1.1)
These checks are working fine for eventLogRecord and eventLogDateName on the R300 I am testing on, but I have a problem with eventLogDateName. Basically there is no .1.1 entry, the latest being .1.4.
I am guessing that this means that the first four entries have the same date/time, however unlikely that may be, which leaves me asking what is the best way to get the most recent event's eventLogDateTime? If there exists a .1.1 then snmptget will return it, however if there is no .1.1 then I guess I need to use snmptgetnext. However, if there is a .1.1 snmpgetnext seems to return the .1.2 entry.
Does anyone have any suggestions as to how I should solve this? I am trying to do it using the check_snmp included with the Nagios Plugins package.
Regards,
Mark Baxter
