I can work around this problem by calling
/etc/init.d/dataeng enablesnmp
after the upgrade.
Nevertheless OMSA 5.5 does not work any more:
root at lee:~# /etc/init.d/dataeng start
Starting Systems Management Data Engine:
Starting dsm_sa_datamgr32d: *
Starting dsm_sa_eventmgr32d: *
Starting dsm_sa_snmp32d: *
root at lee:~# ps aux|grep dell
root 14311 18.0 0.1 120884 5380 ? Ssl 15:49 0:00 /opt/dell/srvadmin/dataeng/bin/dsm_sa_datamgr32d
root 14359 0.0 0.0 112688 2204 ? Ss 15:49 0:00 /opt/dell/srvadmin/dataeng/bin/dsm_sa_datamgr32d
root at lee:~# /etc/init.d/dsm_om_connsvc start
Starting DSM SA Connection Service: *
root at lee:~# ps aux|grep dell
root 14311 3.8 0.1 120884 5384 ? Ssl 15:49 0:00 /opt/dell/srvadmin/dataeng/bin/dsm_sa_datamgr32d
root 14359 0.0 0.0 112688 2204 ? Ss 15:49 0:00 /opt/dell/srvadmin/dataeng/bin/dsm_sa_datamgr32d
The eventmgrd and snmpd processes are missing and om_connsvc does not
start at all.
This happens on a Ubuntu 8.04.2 system. OMSA 5.5 on Debian etch does not
have these problems.
