vmware ESXi 4.0 / host system monitoring

We use zabbix instead, but it is possible to do impi monitoring of the machine. Also with a python script you can bring out the contents of the health status screen from esxi and then use that in your monitoring solution. I think ESXi will see the Perc6 with no problems... If not then might want to see if can get MegaCli running on esxi and then pull the data out from that.

i am currently in an evaluation process of the free vmware hypervisor ESXi 4.0 and I was wondering if someone could give me a hint how one could monitor the hardware resources of the ESXi host system - in my case a poweredge 2950III with SAS perc6 raid controller - I've been googling around quite some time now but I only found information regarding ESXi 3.5 - however, the vmware compatibility list states ESXi 4.0 is compatible with my hardware...

I'd like to integrate the host system into my nagios setup, is that even possible to achieve? ;-)
