battery question

I believe the implications are that it will disable write caching if the
battery won't support it.  Until that happens it will keep write caching
enabled but you will not get the 72 hours unplugged that is mentioned in
the specs.

I had the same issue.  I don't know what the 
implications of a failure would be, but I didn't 
wait to find out.  Called Dell on my in-warranty 
box, got and installed replacement battery, and 
life is good.
