battery question

Yeah I don't have the luxury since its out of warranty, just trying to
figure out what this means and what will happen if it fails.

I had the same issue. I don't know what the
implications of a failure would be, but I didn't
wait to find out. Called Dell on my in-warranty
box, got and installed replacement battery, and
life is good.
