Jason,

We had e820 memory map probe issues on R610 units with the initial release
BIOS on Debian Lenny.  With the BIOS update released a week or so ago,
Dell recognized and fixed that issue.  Whether the R710 has a similar BIOS
update or not, i leave for you to check, as i don't yet have any R710's
deployed.

Please post back if this solution works.  You'll possibly also need
to load the bnx2 firmware (non-free) unless Ubuntu includes that
(Debian doesn't by default)
