Jack,
Not sure about the fans' speed, but if you installed XenServer on the
HDD, then the Dell utility partition is gone. The XenServer installer
will wipe out the entire target HDD before installing. If you want it
back, you can use the Systems Management CDs that came with your system,
though you won't be able to install XenServer using those CDs.
If you installed the Dell OEM XenServer edition then you can use OMSA to
get additional information about the state of your system. Simply point
your browser to https://<system_IP_addr>:1311 or refer to the following
documentation, depending on your version:

Subject: SC 1435 with no utility partition
An SC 1435 I have acquired has the loudest fan I have ever heard. Runs
full
speed at startup and never slows down. Diag light # 2 lights up during
post,
indicating a problem with the Dell SAS RAID card.
Unfortunately, the utility partition is gone (blown away by Citrix
XenServer
install). Do I need to overwrite the XenServer installation to restore
that
partition from system disks, or is there another alternative?
And do those fans always run so loud?
