I noticed some stuff during boot that I didn't see with old linux kernel
versions from debian sarge:

[ 8.791130] sd 0:2:0:0: [sda] 1171783680 512-byte hardware sectors
(599953 MB)
[ 8.791153] sd 0:2:0:0: [sda] Write Protect is off
[ 8.791157] sd 0:2:0:0: [sda] Mode Sense: 00 00 00 00
[ 8.791178] sd 0:2:0:0: [sda] Asking for cache data failed
[ 8.791229] sd 0:2:0:0: [sda] Assuming drive cache: write through
[ 8.791386] sd 0:2:0:0: [sda] 1171783680 512-byte hardware sectors
(599953 MB)
[ 8.791408] sd 0:2:0:0: [sda] Write Protect is off
[ 8.791412] sd 0:2:0:0: [sda] Mode Sense: 00 00 00 00
[ 8.791432] sd 0:2:0:0: [sda] Asking for cache data failed
[ 8.791480] sd 0:2:0:0: [sda] Assuming drive cache: write through

is there something that needs to be configured differently with the scsi
based percs and the newer linux 2.6 megaraid drivers?
