The device represented here as 'sdh' is 'LUN 31' or the 'Access' virtual disk. It is used for in-band management. If I remember correctly, it is hidden once the supporting software from the MD3000i resource CD is installed.

Subject: MD3000i and extra partition in /proc/partition
Hi
I have an MD3000i (with 2 MD1000 enclosures attached - 45TB RAW).
The MD3000i is configured with dual controllers.
All 4 ethernet ports on the M3000i controller are configured.
I've setup 6 Virtual disks (approx 6TB in size each, RAID5: 6+1P)
on the MD3000i, and mounted them on a PowerEdge M600
blade running SLES 10 SP2 (x86-64).
Looking thru /proc/partitions I see the 6 MD3000i disks,
plus an additional partition of size 20480 k (sdh):
cat /proc/partitions
8 16 5857419264 sdb
8 32 5857419264 sdc
8 48 5857419264 sdd
8 64 5857419264 sde
8 80 5857419264 sdf
8 96 5857419264 sdg
8 112 20480 sdh
Anyone know what the sdh partition is,
and why it is showing up in /proc/partitions ?
Thanks
Christian
