Yes. You don't need the mptsas modules for the PERC 6i controller so you
could safely comment out the mpt modules in modprobe.conf.

Subject: PE2950 error
messages:mptctldrivers/message/fusion/mptctl.c::mptctl_ioctl()
Hi,
I get these error messsages in the kernel log on a PE2950 with RHEL 5.3
x86_64, the system only has a PERC 6i Controller:
mptctldrivers/message/fusion/mptctl.c::mptctl_ioctl() @596 - ioc1 not
found!
mptctldrivers/message/fusion/mptctl.c::mptctl_ioctl() @596 - ioc2 not
found!
mptctldrivers/message/fusion/mptctl.c::mptctl_ioctl() @596 - ioc3 not
found!
...
modprobe.conf:
alias eth0 bnx2
alias eth1 bnx2
alias eth2 tg3
alias scsi_hostadapter megaraid_sas
alias scsi_hostadapter1 ata_piix
alias scsi_hostadapter2 usb-storage
alias scsi_hostadapter3 mptspi
alias scsi_hostadapter4 mptsas
My guess is I can safely uncomment the mpt* modules?
Thx
Rainer
