Sorry but if you haven't got a netboot infrastructure and the CD drive (or
cable, or IDE controller) gone astray, it's really easier to use an external
USB CD/DVD drive, and try again with the same exact media, just to discard one
possible cause.
Personally I had a bad CD drive in oen PowerEdge and finally we've got it
installed with... floppy disks :) (it was an ancient server)
