PE 2950 III network issue with fedora 9 and centos 5.2

Hi

I have a very strange network issue with dell poweredge 2950 III server.
I tried with two OS installation (Fedora 9 and Centos 5.2) and one  
liveCD (opensolaris).

Symptoms are following :
When I try to surf the internet I use time out when the files are  
larger than 5792 bytes. I found this size limit by making several  
trial download FTP.

The most strange is that I can connect to an FTP site to browse the  
tree and download files as they are less than 5792 bytes.

This problem is blocking any update by the tool yum.

I check firewall rules and wire connection with windows laptop with success.
