OT: iPhone vs Blackberry with Linux

Hi
Just to correct a few things here.
The iPhone fully supports instant push email/calendar/address book
with both Apple's MobileMe service and MS Exchange (though as a Linux
shop Kerio, Zimbra or other software that supports ActiveSync would be
a better match) without needing any extra server (BES only works on
Windows, only with Exchange and needs another server).
As I said, much more push support will be coming via free software
update this summer supporting open standards for Mail, Calendar and
Address Book as well as third party apps.
As great as the built in apps on the iPhone are (personally the Maps
app beats the Stocks one which I have no use for), the real attraction
is the millions of free/cheap apps at the AppStore. I regularly use
VNC, SSH and Telnet clients for remote support as well as RSS readers,
instant messaging, LinkedIn app, WiFi scanner, secure password store.
Oh, and lots of great games :-)
As someone else said Mobile Safari is a first class web browser. The
visual voicemail is also great if you receive a lot of calls.
Regarding SMS, that's down to the tariff your mobile phone company
offers. As a European, most US tariffs look like very poor value to
me. Here you can get an iPhone for free on 18 month contract with more
minutes and texts than I can use and unlimited 3G data for the same
monthly cost as a BlackBerry. We don't pay for incoming calls or texts.
I support many small businesses, they almost all use iPhones. A
handful have Blackberries, but they do little more than email and
voice calls. Integration with anything other than Windows is woeful
(my customers are all Linux, Apple Mac or both). I have contacts at
many well known international organisations - they are all rolling out
iPhones for corporate use to integrate with Exchange and other
corporate applications.
