RAID migration

You cannot migrate from or to a spanned RAID level. The PERC controllers do not allow this.

To answer your other questions
*Is data preserved?
	Yes
*Is an online migration possible?
	Yes, using OMSA this is allowed. (It's called reconfiguration)
*Time needed to migrate an array consisting of 3 x 146 GB SAS 10k disks?
	There is a reconstruction rate in your controller properties that can help speed or slow this down. Additionally, your IO load makes a big impact on the time. I can't really give you a good timeframe because of these factors.
*What can I expect in terms of performance penalties while the migration is running?
	Again this depends on your reconstruction rate.

Thanks.

Does anyone have past experience with RAID migration and Perc 6/i?

In particular:

  * Is data preserved?
  * Is an online migration possible?
  * Time needed to migrate an array consisting of 3 x 146 GB SAS 10k disks?
  * What can I expect in terms of performance penalties while the migration is running?

Regards

Christian
