PowerPath startup

Hi all,

In fact PowerPath does not support chkconfig.

When you first start PowerPath, it automatically modify :
/etc/init.d/PowerPath
/etc/modprobe.conf
/etc/rc.d/rc.sysinit
/lib/modules/*/modules.dep

At this stage PowerPath should be on if you restart your server without doing any manual change.
So, have you tried to reboot your server to see if EMC² pseudo devices are still available ?

To set the daemon to start after boot?
Normally, the installation should take care of this, but perhaps not.
You can reboot and check it the service is set to start using
chkconfig --list PowerPath
If it lists "off", use the cmd above to enable it and make sure it is configured to run in the runlevel you're using. Normally that would be level 3, but I've seen people using level 4 though most services are turned off in 4.
