Moving OMSA install from one PE model to another one

RHEL5, OMSA 5.5

Let's ignore storage/network drivers problems.

1)
Suppose I install OMSA on a PE model X (say 840), then I move the HDs to a
PE model Y (say T300) and boot the system.

If the OMSA version supports the new PE model, what happens next:
a) OMSA will automatically detect and adapt to the new PE model, nothing is
required on my part.
b) I have to run a command (which one?) to tell OMSA about the PE switch.
c) I have to edit a file (which one?) to tell OMSA about the PE switch.

2) 
Suppose I install OMSA in a test VMware image, using 
	export OMIIGNORESYSID=1
If I then install the content of this image on a bare metal PE (no more
VMware involved in any way),  are the answers to the above 3 questions the
same?
