Problems, problems with IT Assistant

1) How can I download the most recent version?  When I go to the
downloads page for a PE2950, it links to an older version.  I looked
under an R server and found a link for 5.5 which required a service tag.
Luckily, there is one in our lab.  But it started to download an
.iso.001 file and then quit  How can I just get IT Assistant with no
muss, no fuss, no menus, no questions?

2) The version I have installed now ( 8.0.1 ) won't let me log in any
more.  Says, "User cancelled to proceed. IT Assistant will not be
loaded."  WTF?  Remedial English, anyone?  This is with a working
Administrator and a user account, from localhost.

3) Accessing ITA remotely with IE just gets me the yellow lights moving
around an Vista telling me that "Registry Editor" wants access.  YUhh,
no!  Firefox under Windows tries to install a jre RPM.
